DB Schenker appointed Philippe Gilbert to the position of regional CEO, Americas. Gilbert joined DB Schenker Americas in March 2013 as regional director, Europe West. He is taking over the CEO role from Heiner Murmann, who is retiring from that position but continuing his 20-year tenure with the company as a member of the Schenker AG global board of management, responsible for the Air and Ocean freight business unit. In 2005, Gilbert became director, Overseas and Groupage, at Geodis Group in France. In 2008, he was named executive vice-president and chairman of Geodis Wilson Network.
Daifuku North America Holding Company has promoted Aki Nishimura to president. Brian Stewart will continue as chairman and CEO. In his new role, Nishimura will focus on expanding North American sales, increasing profitability and promoting the importance of workplace safety. Nishimura is a graduate of Hiroshima Institute of Technology, located in Saeki, Hiroshima, Japan. He has over 25 years of experience in the material handling industry and has worked with Daifuku since 1987. He has held several instrumental positions within the organization, such as Director of Manufacturing at Daifuku America Corporation, a subsidiary of Daifuku North America Holding Company. He advanced to President in 2013 and will continue to serve as CEO at Daifuku America Corporation.
Tim Hund was promoted to president of Daifuku America Corporation from vice-president of the Automotive Factory Automation Division. He has over 30 years in the industry. Daifuku America Corporation develops systems for industries such as automotive and cleanrooms.
Dennis Dodo has been appointed CFO at BC Ferries effective April 8, 2015. Dodo brings extensive experience as a financial executive in various industries including nine years in the rate regulated energy industry. Most recently a VP at Ontario Power Generation, he has had many strategic achievements such as leading the financial function on one of Ontario’s largest infrastructure projects. Dodo is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master of Business Administration (Accounting) from Revier College in New Hampshire, as well as a Graduate Certificate in International Finance and Accounting from the University of the District of Columbia.
