Mercator Transport to act as forwarder for UN supplier

LAVAL, QC: Mercator Transport Group Corporation, through its subsidiary Mercator Ghana Limited, has completed an agreement with a service supplier to the United Nations Operation in Côte d’Ivoire (UNOCI) to transport food to the West African country.

Through the agreement, Mercator Transport will handle customs clearance and transportation of dried, fresh and frozen food supplies that will be shipped to UNOCI staff in Ivory Coast. The UNOCI is a military corps created in 2004 by the United Nations to oversee the Ivory Coast peace process.

Mercator Transport will act as food supplier in the context of the operation, which involves nearly 10,000 UN peacekeepers. The agreement between Mercator Transport and UNOCI  covers three months and is renewable by the client for six additional months.
