HALIFAX: The Halifax Port Authority is hosting Port Days 2011—Growth and Innovation, September 14-15. The event is a mix of business sessions and networking opportunities, with most events happening at the Cunard Centre in the Halifax Seaport district.
Port Days 2011 begins September 14, with an annual golf tournament at Glen Arbour Golf Course, followed by an opening reception at the Cunard Centre.
September 15 will see the chairman’s breakfast and morning business sessions, followed by the keynote luncheon, in Heritage Hall at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21. The day also includes business sessions, with the first session a cargo innovation panel at 9am. The panel will discuss cargo growth developments harnessing technology, infrastructure and entrepreneurship. The next session—at 10:45am—is a panel on the future of containerization.
A trade show takes place during the opening reception on September 14 and the breakfast and business sessions, September 15. Closing events will take place that evening with the terminal operators’ and stevedores’ reception and lobster feast.
