Lufthansa contest looking for cargo handling ideas

FRANKFURT, Germany—Lufthansa Cargo is looking for the next great idea in cargo handling.

The second round of its Open Innovation Challenge is open  to anybody in the world who has an a thought or plan for improving one of four aspects of cargo handling. The categories are:

  • customer interaction and customer experience
  • technology, applications and digital solutions
  • customer loyalty programs
  • open—anything that doesn’t easily fit in the other categories.

Winners get an expense-paid trip to Germany to present their ideas to Lufthansa. They may also have the opportunity to work with Lufthansa to develop and realize their pitches. Students who submit winning ideas may be offered internships with the company. All winners will also receive some seat-time and flight training in the MD-11 flight simulator.

The contest is being run through a dedicated website: www.innovation.lufthansa-cargo.com. Entries will be accepted until November 7.
