US and Chinese transportation associations sign deal

ALEXANDRIA, Virginia: The Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) and the Chinese Freight Forwarders Association (CIFA) have a new cooperation agreement.

The deal between the US-based TIA and CIFA was reached during a joint summit in Beijing, China. It calls on the two organizations to exchange information and visits to share ‘the fruits of development’ and successful experiences in the industry.

It also specifies that the two associations will exchange general information about market conditions in their respective countries and that they will both work to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the other party’s members in its country.

The TIA hopes the agreement will promote and enhance business and trade between its members and CIFA members.

“TIA and CIFA are the leading 3PL organizations in their respective countries.  Closer cooperation between the members of the TIA and CIFA makes sense, and will improve service to our member’s customers,” said TIA president and CEO Robert Voltmann.
