Who’s on the move this week? [Jan 19, 2012]

The Transport Institute at the University of Manitoba’s Asper School of Business has a new acting director. Paul Earl has stepped into the role. Earl has been teaching in and conducting research for the Institute’s department of supply chain management since 2003. He has worked for the United Grain Growers, the Grain Transportation Agency, and the Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association. He holds a PhD from the University of Manitoba.

Chris Keylon is the new president of Vitran Express US. He is now responsible for all US LTL operations. He reports to Rick Gaetz, president and CEO of the Toronto-based Vitran Corporation Inc. Keylon previously worked at FedEx Freight, and held the title of senior vice-president of operations.

Sheila Taylor

Sheila Taylor has joined Menlo Worldwide Logistics as the company’s senior vice-president of finance. Most recently, Taylor was the CFO of the Americas for CEVA Logistics and previously she was executive vice-president and CFO at YRC Worldwide. She also worked at Yellow Transportation and served as a CPA at Arthur Andersen. She will work out of Menlo’s Portland, Oregon offices.

Columbus, Indiana-based Toyota Material Handling North America (TMHNA) announced that its president and CEO is retiring. James Malvaso will officially step down on April 1 when Brent Wood will take over the duties. Wood currently serves as executive vice-president of TMHNA and chairman of Toyota Material Handling USA Inc (TMHU).
