Air Canada says it has resumed flights following a tentative agreement on a new contract with the Canadian Union of Public Employees but warns it could take up to a week for operations to return to normal.
The airline says while service is resuming immediately, some flights will be cancelled over the next seven to 10 days until schedules stabilize.
Air Canada Cargo will continue to run a modified freighter schedule during the recovery, including temporary service to Europe, to help maintain shipping capacity.
The airline says a trucking network has also been added between freighter destinations and its key hubs to support cargo connections.
