CN avoids strike, reaches tentative agreement with union

CN has reached a new tentative four-year collective agreement with the International Brotherhood of Electric Workers (IBEW), averting a potential strike that was set to begin today (Jan. 28).

IBEW represents approximately 750 signals and communication employees at CN across Canada.

CN said no details of the tentative agreement will be released publicly until the agreement is ratified. The current collective agreement with IBEW expired Dec. 31, 2024.
