Williams Pharmalogistics completes nationwide temperature-controlled network expansion

Williams Pharmalogistics has completed a nationwide network expansion that significantly increases its temperature-controlled transportation capabilities across Canada.

The company said the expansion is the largest in its more than 50-year history and brings its total footprint to 18 temperature-controlled facilities, strengthening the Canadian health-care supply chain.

The expanded network allows Williams Pharmalogistics to offer door-to-door, temperature-controlled ground and air transportation services that comply with Health Canada regulations, including GUI-0069. Services include courier, less-than-truckload, truckload, cross-border, dedicated transportation and chain-of-signature delivery.

The network primarily operates at 15 to 25 C, with options for 2 to 8 C and heated services, and serves health care and life sciences facilities as well as patients across the country.

“The Williams Pharmalogistics team has been working diligently over the last 18 months to expand our capabilities nationwide, allowing us to bring the same reliable, consistent, temperature-controlled services to customers across the country and to and from the United States,” said Stephane Elkin, president of Williams Pharmalogistics.

The expansion follows Purolator’s acquisition of Williams Pharmalogistics in December 2023. Williams continues to operate independently as a wholly owned subsidiary.

“Purolator and Williams Pharmalogistics are two proudly Canadian companies with deep roots in their communities. We’re pleased to support Williams with this significant network expansion, allowing it to provide even more options to Canada’s growing health-care market,” said Jason Hern, general manager of health care at Purolator.

Williams Pharmalogistics is headquartered in Lachine, Que., and specializes in temperature-controlled transportation services for the pharmaceutical and health care sectors.
