Imperial Logistics

Imperial Logistics has opened a new, multi-user logistics facility in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. The new facility is eight kilometres away from Imperial’s existing multi-user business site in Herten. The launch customer for the new facility will be a long-standing Imperial customer, Lemken, which is an international manufacturer of agricultural machinery. To accommodate this significant increase in volume, a tailor-made and automated 645835-square-foot DSV warehouse in Venlo, the Netherlands, has been upgraded. Knapp Austria supplied the automation for the facility, which includes an AS/RS capable of handling 241,000 bins. It manages more than 12,500 pieces per hour.
