The Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) has teamed up with Freightcom to offer its members discounted freight, e-commerce and parcel services.

The partnership gives CFIB members access to a free Freightcom account with no startup or monthly fees, as well as savings of up to 75 per cent on domestic, cross-border and international shipping with more than 50 North American carriers.

“Shipping costs have been a major challenge for small business owners across Canada, especially as they navigate the mess of ever-changing trade rules, Canada Post strikes, and service disruptions,” said Dan Kelly, CFIB president. “Not being able to move goods quickly or affordably can be a major constraint on growth. We’re excited to partner with Freightcom to provide a strong shipping solution for our members.”

Freightcom president and CEO Turab Kermally said the goal is to simplify shipping and give small businesses access to the same tools and savings as larger players.

“Partnering with the CFIB allows us to extend these benefits to entrepreneurs nationwide, giving them access to the same technology, carrier options, and savings,” he said. “Together, we’re helping small businesses overcome one of their biggest challenges allowing them to unlock new opportunities.”

Members will also have access to quotes, booking, tracking and dedicated support through the Freightcom platform.
