Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council announces project update

MISSISSAUGA, Ont.–The Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council has announced an update to its Supply Chain Links Project. Working groups and contractors are now on board for both segments of the Supply Chain Links project, CSCSC said in a release.

To create another 15 occupational standards for the supply chain, the Council has contracted again with CSA Group, which wrote the existing 33 standards through earlier projects. CSA has set up an online community to enable stakeholders to contribute ideas to the development of the standards.

For Part 2 of the project – creation of the Connector skills-matching tool – Calgary’s Essential Skills Group has been engaged. The team has developed mock-ups of the tool’s webpages and learning plans, and has begun the process to come up with the assessment items, or questions, that users will answer to determine their skill level relative to specific supply chain occupations. Focus-group sessions to review the assessment items will begin in the fall, the CSCSC said.
