TORONTO, Ont.–CIFFA has undertaken to conduct a survey to gather data related to the financial impacts of the storage charges assessed by the terminals (railroads and others) with respect to the recent truckers’ strike at Port Metro Vancouver.
The five week work action by the truckers meant that container movements at the port were severely curtailed. The terminals at PMV have assessed thousands of dollars in storage fees, which is having negative consequences for freight forwarders and for their importing clients, said the association.
The survey link has been provided to the Principal Representative of CIFFA regular freight forwarding members, whose names are posted on our website. If you have information to provide, please contact the CIFFA representative for your company to ensure that the survey is competed with all relevant information.
