VersaCold Logistics Services appoints new Vice President Engineering, new CFO

VAUGHAN, Ont.–VersaCold Logistics Services is pleased to announce the appointment of Joe Sammon to the position of Vice President Engineering, and the appointment of Michael Spence to the position of Chief Financial Officer

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, Joe has overall responsibility for physical engineering within VersaCold’s 33 warehousing facilities across Canada. In addition to physical plant and overall facility engineering Joe also has responsibility for VersaCold’s green energy initiatives as well as the critical responsibility of maintaining sensitive temperature’s in order to meet our customers’ quality requirements.

Joe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, is a Professional Engineer (P. Eng), and holds an MBA from Wilfred Laurier University. Prior to joining VersaCold Joe was responsible for BlackBerry’s forty one facilities in Canada..

Michael has overall responsibility for the Finance and Accounting Functions. In addition to Finance Michael also has overall responsibility for VersaCold’s technology strategy and platforms. VersaCold has defined technology as a critical enabler of its ongoing strategy and a key enabler to helping its customers meet their supply chain strategy, the cpmpany said.

Michael was previously President and Chief Financial Officer of Canadian General Tower. Michael holds both Chartered Accountant (CA) and Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designations and is current enrolled in the Executive MBA program at Queen’s University.
