PRINCETON, New Jersey—The latest rugged scanner from KoamTac Inc is an adaptation of its main KDC350 product. The KDC350 3-Key has a simpler interface—three buttons replace the alpha-numeric keypad—which makes it an easier-to-use and a more purpose-built barcode scanner.
Beyond that, the unit offers most of the same features as the rest of the KDC 350 family, including IP65 ingress protection, and the ability to survive a 1.5m drop.
Options include GPS, available Near Field Communication (NFC) capabilities, and long-range barcode reading.
The units measure 43mm by 94mm by 24mm, and weigh 85 grams. A 3.7 volt lithium-ion battery powers the KDC350 3-Key, including its 2.5cm OLED display. It is designed to work in temperatures ranging between -10C and 50C.
It runs on 64KB RAM, and also incorporates ROM flash memory (256KB for the program and 4MB for the user). The processor is a 32-bit ARM7. The KDC350 3-Key can store over 100,000 product records.
