Freightzy launches refrigerated shipping program for Canadian SMEs

Canadian logistics startup Freightzy has launched what it calls the country’s most accessible refrigerated less-than-truckload (Reefer LTL) shipping program, aimed at helping small and mid-sized businesses overcome long-standing cold chain barriers.

“With Freightzy, SMEs no longer have to choose between unreliable service and sky-high costs,” said founder Sean Freedman. “Cold chain shouldn’t be out of reach for growing companies. We’re here to help Canadian businesses scale at home and compete across borders.”

The company’s new offering gives businesses access to more than 70 pre-vetted temperature-controlled carriers, cold storage warehousing, real-time tracking, rapid quotes and 24/7 support, all through a custom-built mobile portal.

With most of Canada’s 8,800-plus food and beverage manufacturers classified as SMEs, Freightzy says its program addresses a key gap in the market, especially as the sector nears a projected value of $164 billion in 2025.

Founded in Guelph in 2020 and now based in Toronto, Freightzy has doubled its revenue over the past three years while expanding its range of LTL, FTL, expedited and intermodal services.
