Royal Air Maroc Cargo unveils global expansion strategy

Royal Air Maroc Cargo has announced an ambitious strategy to modernize its operations and expand globally, with a focus on fleet renewal, digital transformation, sustainability and increased connectivity across emerging markets.

The cargo arm of Morocco’s national airline is rolling out new-generation widebody aircraft to boost operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact, supporting the carrier’s broader goals of safety, agility and carbon-conscious logistics.

“Our vision is to expand Royal Air Maroc Cargo’s global network, connect emerging and established markets, and strengthen Morocco’s position as a trade and logistics hub,” said Yassine Berrada, vice-president cargo at Royal Air Maroc. “With the introduction of the new generation widebodies, we are not only increasing our operational capacity but also reducing our environmental impact—helping us build a future that is innovative, responsible, and customer-focused.”

The carrier plans to grow its reach across Africa and tap into opportunities in Asia and the Americas, leveraging its Casablanca hub and a network spanning 82 global destinations, including Canada, the U.S., Europe and the Middle East.

Royal Air Maroc Cargo is also investing in digital platforms such as cargo.one and Cargo.AI to enhance booking access, with plans to introduce real-time tracking and automated documentation.

Sustainability efforts include fuel-efficient operations, biodegradable packaging, solar energy systems and participation in IATA’s Eco Hub. The airline also partners with humanitarian organizations to deliver medical supplies and vaccines across Africa.

With an upgraded fleet that includes widebodies, narrowbodies and a B767 freighter, the company says it is well-positioned to support global trade and logistics in a changing market landscape.
