AKRON, Ohio — Akro-Mils, a manufacturer of storage, organization and transport products, has introduced its new Indicator Bins, which the company is touting as “an innovative, low-cost alternative to high-end inventory control systems.”

The two-toned bin comes in two sizes and is designed to simplify visual recognition when supplies need to be replenished.

The Indicator Bin involves a four-step process that allows end users to stock, pick, flip and replenish. Users can stock the bin using the divider to designate volume for the inventory reserve, pick from the blue side of the bin until reaching the divider, flip the bin to the orange reserve to indicate inventory levels are low, and replenish the bin and repeat.

Company officials say the bin’s rolled ridge provides added strength when filled to maximum capacity and features a large label area on both sides. The Indicator Bin works with 14″ wire shelving, 12″ steel shelving, and pick rack systems.
