Amazon expands Canadian services

SEATTLE, Washington—Online retailer Amazon is now offering its Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) service in Canada.

FBA, which has been available in the US for a number of years now, is designed to allow third-party sellers to off-load fulfillment and logistics operations to Amazon. Their products sit in Amazon warehouses and when a customer purchases something, Amazon picks, packs and ships the product directly to the customer.

Because Amazon handles the merchandise, the items qualify for standard Amazon offers such as free shipping and return processing. FBA also provides tools to allow sellers to track their inventory and overall sales.

“Since we launched FBA in the US, we’ve heard from sellers that offering customers a consistent experience and free shipping through FBA helps them increase their sales and grow their businesses,” said Tom Taylor, vice-president of Fulfillment by Amazon.  “We love doing the heavy lifting for sellers and helping them grow, so we’re excited to make FBA available in Canada as we head into the busy holiday season.”

Items posted to Amazon.ca that are part of the FBA program will be identified with a Fulfilled by Amazon logo on their listings.
