ANZ-Lufthansa round-the-world freighter service launched

Air New Zealand Cargo and Lufthansa Cargo have launched a round-the-world freighter service using an MD11 freighter aircraft operated by Lufthansa Cargo.

Under the arrangement Air New Zealand Cargo will hold the majority of the capacity between the US, New Zealand and Australia while it has a lesser amount from Frankfurt to the US and from Melbourne.

Services will operate three times a week from Frankfurt.

The arrangement is expected to widen the markets that Air New Zealand can serve worldwide, including the ability to sell into Malaysia but primarily for additional capacity in the US market.
