ANZDL takes the next step in providing online tracking information to shippers

by Canadian Shipper

ANZDL has introduced a new electronic service which forwards customers daily container status reports based on their own selections via e-mail.

The service, called Notify Me, is an extension of ANZDL’s automated e-mail notification system, which was an industry first.

“Many carriers are still focussed on getting customers to access their web sites,” said Frank Lavarini, ANZDL’s vice president of information services. “Our strategy is to simplify work tasks, eliminate steps for our customer, and make doing business with ANZDL easier. This new service saves them time by doing away with the need to access our web site to track their cargo.”

The new service allows shippers to select a tracing option based on the type of information they or their customers actually require such as when the container is loaded onto the vessel or arrives at its final destination. To use the new service, shippers only need to enter ANZDL’s web site once to set up their personal preference. They then receive a status report once a day for containers reaching a specific move for example, each time a shipment is delivered to its final destination.
