B.C. commercial drivers to see insurance costs soar

by Canadian Shipper

The Insurance Corp. of B.C. (ICBC) is set to raise insurance premiums for commercial vehicle operators by an average of 11.2 per cent.

Commercial vehicle drivers will experience the highest premium hikes, while most B.C. drivers will pay only slightly more for car insurance next year. Some may even experience a slight decrease in premiums.

Meanwhile, plans to introduce competition to ICBC have been shelved, for now at least.
