BAX Global Inc. has expanded its BAXSaver service to include time-definite, door-to-door delivery between the U.S. and Canada to major business regions in Mexico.
BAXSaver is a distance-based, zone-priced transportation service with no size or weight restrictions. BAXSaver will initially be available between the U.S., Canada and the main business areas of Mexico City, Guadalajara, Saltillo, Chihuahua, San Luis Potosi and Monterrey.
“With the launch of BAXSaver into Mexico, BAX now has expanded the reach of our integrated air and surface network throughout North America. Our network can now offer total flexibility at various service levels for customers working with suppliers in Mexico. Delivery options now include Guaranteed and Standard Overnight to time-definite BAXSaver,” said Joseph L. Carnes, president, BAX Global Inc.
The expanded service is based on similar time commitments established with BAXSaver throughout the USA, with additional days added for delivery to Mexico or Canada, depending on location and customs requirements. Offering a service similar to Premium LTL, BAXSaver mostly utilizes the BAX expedited surface network, but the air network is utilized for some lane segments when necessary to meet delivery requirements between the most distant locations.
In related news, BAX Global has unveiled an instant ocean LCL online price quote tool for LCL ocean shipments from anywhere in the U.S. to anywhere in the world.
The new online feature, found on BAX Global’s Web site, www.baxglobal.com/Ocean, offers customers a tool that combines inland and ocean less-than-container load (LCL) pricing at the click of a button.
The feature is part of BAX’s dedicated Ocean Services online suite of tools that details the company’s complete range of ocean freight services, including the instant rate quote and online sailing schedule features.
“BAX’s instant, online LCL ocean rate feature provides our customers with a simple, easy-to-use method for finding prices,” said Peter Gruettner, vice president, BAX Ocean Services.
The service also allows each price quote, with accompanying detail, to be e-mailed directly to the web user’s customer for review. The LCL online U.S. pricing tool ties in with BAX’s sailing schedules and weekly LCL ocean consolidations to Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Australia/New Zealand, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
