Bob Armstrong named new SCL president

TORONTO, Ont. Supply Chain & Logistics Association Canada has named well-known international trade expert Bob Armstrong its new president.

Bob Armstrong, C.I.T.P, recently served as Senior Vice President of PBB Global Logistics, and immediately preceding this as President and CEO for the Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters Inc. for nine years and as President of the Association of International Automobile Manufacturers of Canada (AIAMC) for nine years.

Since establishing his own business in February 2006, Armstrong has specialized in the marine sector where he acts as the Project Director for MarineLink,Inc. a cross lake international truck ferry service currently under development. He is also involved in several other Short Sea Shipping Initiatives under development in Canada.

He has also been very active on the Board of Directors for 6 different industry Associations such as FITT, IECanada ,the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (Chair,Borders,Transportation & Infrastructure Committee),HKCBA and he serves on the Advisory Committee to the Greater Toronto Transportation Authority.

In 2005, Armstrong was awarded the prestigious McMillan Binch Mendelsohn Canadian Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Canada and to Canadas advancement in International Trade.

Armstrong succeeds long-time SCL president (during two tenures)David Long.
