Breaking news…Air crash in NYC closes all city airports
An American Airlines jet crashed on takeoff around 9:15 a.m. November 12 from JFK airport in the New York City borough of Queens.
The Airbus A300 was en route to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
New York Port Authority officials say 246 passengers, and 9 crew were on board.
Some twelve buildings in the surrounding area are affected, and all New York City area airports have been closed.
All bridges and tunnels leading into the city have also been shut down.
