Canada Maritime’s new "Canmar Spirit" makes maiden call in Montreal

Canmar Spirit, the second of two containerships introduced by Canada Maritime recently made its maiden call at the Port of Montreal’s Racine Terminal.

The newly-built Canmar Spirit and its sistership Canmar Venture are the largest containerships serving the St. Lawrence River, each with a nominal capacity of 4,100 teu. Both are ice-strengthened, which is menat to enable them to offer year round schedule integrity.

Each operates in Route 1 of Canada Maritime’s Northern Service, which links Montreal with Thamesport, Antwerp and Le Havre.
