Cargo and yields up at EVA Air for Q3

by Canadian Shipper

Taiwanese carrier EVA Air has seen its cargo load factor and yield significantly improve compared with the second quarter, but they are still falling significantly below the levels of the same period last year, says the carrier.

EVA Air moved 41,609 tonnes of cargo across its network in September, a seven per cent drop in volume over the previous year. For the year to date, its tonnage has dropped seven per cent, to 351,768 tonnes.

Revenue attributable to its freight division is down more than 13 per cent for the period. With its annual freight-tonne capacity having been reduced more than 2.5 per cent to compensate for the shortfall in rates and available cargo, the carrier saw its load factor drop almost five per cent, to about 72 per cent in September.
