Cargo condition database opens on the web

by Canadian Shipper

There is a new database on the internet for shippers that catalogues data on temperatures, trauma and other conditions found within containers during voyages, reports Schednet.com.

The Marine Container Measurement Database of Transport Conditions is the brainchild of the NYK Logistics Technology Institute, a subsidiary of Japanese shipping giant Nippon Yusen Kaisha.

Taking data that has been gathered over the years since 1987, the free database is aimed at seeking the optimal cargo care for goods inside containers during transport. The query driven web site can be found at www.nyklti.co.jp/ces/ and displays the information as a time historical graph for downloading.
