PITTSBURGH, Pa.– CombineNet has announced the release of its self-service, on-demand solution for optimizing the sourcing and award of ocean freight transportation services. Built on CombineNet’s Advanced Sourcing Application Platform, CombineNet Ocean Manager offers the ability to configure and manage ocean freight sourcing events using Web-based technologies, says the company.
“CombineNet Ocean Manager delivers a new level of speed and efficiency to supply chain and logistics teams,” said CombineNet CEO Tony Bonidy.
“Shippers sourcing their ocean freight annually or on the spot can ensure that they are getting the best value from their carriers while meeting their internal business requirements with Ocean Manager.”
Ocean Manager is an ocean freight transportation specific sourcing tool built upon CombineNet’s Advanced Sourcing Application Platform (ASAP).
The patented optimization engine at the core of CombineNet ASAP enables Expressive Commerce, a strategic sourcing initiative that helps shippers and carriers communicate supply and demand more expressively, collaboratively and strategically, the company claims.
With ASAP, shippers are free to express their requirements, constraints and preferences, and carriers are encouraged to express their strengths and capabilities to best meet the shipper’s needs.
