Container traffic breaks record at Port of Halifax handled over 500,000 units
The Port of Halifax, thanks to double-digit percentage increases, pushed its container traffic well past the half-million mark, according to year-end figures released by the Halifax Port Authority.
The port handled 548,404 TEUs (20-foot equivalent units) in 2000, slightly less than projected but still enough to break the record of 462,766 TEUs established the previous year.
