Members of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees (BMWE) have ratified a three-year collective agreement with Canadian Pacific Railway.
The agreement with the BMWE extends through to the end of 2003 and provides for a two percent wage increase in each year as well as improvements to pensions and benefits. The BMWE represents about 3,000 employees who maintain track and structures on CPR.
“We are extremely pleased to have reached a mutually beneficial negotiated agreement with the BMWE,” said Rob Ritchie, CPR President and Chief Executive Officer. “The settlement is commensurate with the pattern that has been established in the Canadian rail industry.”
