Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems can expect to remain at the top of any IT shopping list despite the economic downturn, according to results shown by a recent AMR Research survey.
Market analysts AMR Research say it should come as no surprise that 87 percent of the user companies it
surveyed indicated they will either sustain or increase their budgets for projects that grow sales and manage customers. The trend is also reflected in customer management and sell-side e-commerce vendors year-end numbers.
AMR points out that Siebel Systems ended its year with revenue growth of 121 percent, Onyx Software came in at a 101percent increase, and Pivotal ended its second quarter for 2001 with a growth rate of 123 percent. And while Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) vendors such as PeopleSoft and SAP didn’t show a breakdown by business
unit, both cited CRM product releases and sales as key factors to successful earnings.
