Crowley American Transport adds Puerto Cabello call northbound

by Canadian Shipper

Crowley American Transport (CAT) is reinstating northbound port calls at Puerto Cabello, Venezuela, as part of its East Coast service linking North and South America.

Company officials said the decision was made in response to customer needs and increased trade volumes.

Puerto Cabello is the primary load port for cargoes moving between Venezuela and North America and is also the major receiving port for shipments from Argentina and Brazil. Trade between those two countries and Venezuela has been steadily increasing.

“Puerto Cabello is the prime port serving Venezuela’s industrial center in Valencia about 30 miles inland, and the major consumer markets in the capital city of Caracas,” notes Wilson Roque, CAT’s Vice President for Venezuela.

Crowley American Transport, a part of the Hamburg Sd organization, provides containerized marine transport and intermodal logistics services linking East and Gulf Coast North America with both coasts of South America.
