TORONTO, Ont. Canadian Transportation & Logistics is adding two well-known industry figures to its list of columnists.
Joining the fold are Dan Goodwill and Laurie Turnbull. Both will be contributing to “The Bigger Picture column,” appearing monthly in CT&L. The column was initially authored by Jack Bradley who this year moved to a key logistics post at Husky Injection Molding Systems.
The column will continue in its tradition of providing supply chain professionals with solutions to their more pressing issues.
Goodwill, president, Dan Goodwill & Associates Inc., has over 20 years of experience in the logistics and transportation industries in both Canada and the United States. He has held executive level positions in the industry including president of Yellow Transportation’s Canada division, president of Clarke Logistics (Canada’s largest Intermodal Marketing Company), general manager of the Railfast division of TNT and vice president, sales & marketing, TNT Overland Express. He is currently a consultant to manufacturers and distributors, helping them improve their transportation processes and save million of dollars in freight spend. Goodwill has had articles published in Logistics Quarterly and the CSCMP newsletter and has spoken at CSCMP and other industry workshops and conferences. He has been active in CSCMP for over ten years and holds the P. Log designation.
Turnbull’s background includes over 25 years of supply chain management experience, both in manufacturing and the service sector, most recently in a senior management position with a logistics company in Brampton. As of this January, Turnbull, who holds both CITT and P.MM designations, started a new role as a full time supply chain consultant. He has 10 semesters experience as an instructor at Humber College in Toronto and is currently teaching a transportation and logistics course to continuing education students. He has also written three supply chain management seminars which he presents to purchasing and logistics managers across the country for the Purchasing Management Association of Canada.
The Bigger Picture column begins again in the April issue of CT&L with Turnbull outlining how to properly allocate resources throughout the supply chain.
