Descartes realigns organizational structure by geography

The Descartes Systems Group Inc.,the Waterloo, Ont.-based provider of logistics solutions, has announced an organizational realignment.

The company says the realignment was done to "reflect an increase in accountability of geographical regions in an effort to drive strong> relationships with customers and prospects and propel the growth of the company."

The company’s organizational structure is now aligned by three > geographical regions – the Americas (North and South America), EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and Asia-Pacific. Each region reports to a general manager with profit and loss accountability.

With increased responsibilities to provide both pre- and post-sales support and other services to customers, the company says its goal is to deliver faster customer activations and improved customer satisfaction.

Descartes also announced the appointment of Richard Weatherstone as general manager for the EMEA region, Kevin Taylor as general manager for the Asia Pacific region, and John Kellett as general manager for Canada.
