DHL-Lufthansa Cargo to set up life sciences logistics centre

MIRAMAR, Fla. -DHL Danzas Air & Ocean and Lufthansa Cargo are partnering in a joint-venture company to provide integrated end-to-end temperature controlled transportation solutions for the life science industry, covering pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare services.

According to a statement, LifeConEx, based in Miramar, Florida, will start operations on April 1 and will offer a integrates logistics solutions focusing on temperature-controlled end-to-end transportation along the supply chain, reported schednet.com.

The joint venture with a dedicated team of specialists will improve order to deliver cycle times and help customers to reduce the total supply chain costs, the companies said.

CEO Robert Krautheim will manage LifeConEx. Krautheim is a DHL Danzas Air & Ocean employee. Michael Vorwerk of Lufthansa Cargo has been named COO of the new entity.
