DHL offers `China Domestic’ service

DHL has launched its first domestic express service in China by an international logistics services provider, said the company in a statement. The new express service offers door-to-door delivery service, shorter delivery and pickup times as well as shipment tracking via DHL’s Track-and-Trace technology.

DHL also plans to boost its express logistics activities with three Express Logistics Centres and 16 Spare Parts Centres to tap express logistics growth in China, reports schednet.com.

DHL Danzas Air & Ocean, meanwhile, has invested US$3 million in two Logistics Centres, one in Pudong which opened on May 10, and the second in Jiuting, Shanghai, catering to ocean freight customers and clients in need of general warehousing .

The logistics arm of DHL also plans to double its presence in China from 20 cities to 37 by 2007 under a $12 million infrastructure development programme. This year, DHL Danzas Air & Ocean will establish seven new offices in Wuxi, Jinan, Urumuqi, Fishou, Zhongshan, Dongguan and Wenshou.
