Geodis and Grenzebach are launching a goods-to-person robotics program. Over the past year, the two have partnered in a pilot program for a large consumer electronics customer at Geodis’s Nashville, Tennessee campus, which uses automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and mobile storage units (MSUs). Following the success of the trail, the 3PL and robotics maker are now introducing the robotics program to additional clients.

Tax-Air, a Midwest U.S-based logistics and transportation services provider, has been awarded the 2019 Exceptional Performance Award by Uline. The award recognizes the hard work of Tax-Air and the dedication they have for Uline and their customers. Uline is one of Tax-Air’s largest valued partners, working over the years to provide outbound freight for the state of Wisconsin.

Instacart and C&S Wholesale Grocers, Inc., the largest wholesale grocery supply company in the U.S., have partnered to offer e-commerce and same-day delivery to more than 3,000 C&S independent grocery retailers across the U.S. C&S supplies more than 7,700 independent supermarkets, chain stores, military bases and institutions with over 137,000 different products. Instacart today partners with more than 350 national, regional and local retailers to offer delivery from over 25,000 stores across more than 5,500 cities in the U.S. and Canada.

E2open is making In-Transit Visibility free with all subscriptions to its service. Clients can now locate an unlimited number of shipments at no incremental cost across all modes, all geographies, all stops and with ETAs. Visibility For All integrates to all E2open applications. Once implemented, E2open platform users can immediately start tracking shipments and ETAs by providing standard transport data or any additional cross-reference to the E2open platform. When used in conjunction with E2open intelligent applications for planning or execution, the platform automatically manages all relevant cross-references.

Port Tampa Bay received a US$19.8 million grant as part of the US Department of Transportation’s INFRA Grant program to expand its container complex with a new, 1,300-foot-long berth and a 30-acre container yard. The project will expand container capacity by 60 percent, increase the number of deep draft container vessels the port can receive, improve efficiency with a state-of-the-art truck gate, and improve rail access.
