Evergreen Marine moving operations to Deltaport in April

by Canadian Shipper

Global carrier Evergreen Marine Corporation (Taiwan) will be moving its operations from the Port of Vancouver to Deltaport starting from the end of April.

Deltaport has on-dock capability of two 7,000-foot trains shipside, four post-Panamax cranes, a 35-acre rail yard with four sets of tracks, the largest rail facility in Vancouver. There is direct access to Canadian National Railway and Canadian Pacific Rail System, eliminating the use of intermediate short line or switching handover to 3rd party rail, as well as intermediate grounding or handling.

Among the expected improvements in service, according to Evergreen, are fewer congestion delays, better equipment control and turns and better container tracking functionality for cargo inbound to and outbound from Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, Manitoba and the Maritime provinces.

In addition to its key location away from urban highway congestion, along with the expectation of improved intermodal transit, Deltaport offers cutting edge container-handling capability, Evergreen adds.
