AKRON, Ohio–FedEx Custom Critical, Inc., a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. has opened an Express Center in Denver and appointed a regional sales manager for Colorado and Utah.
As an Express Center, Denver will serve as a location where vehicles are available to be dispatched to pick up time-sensitive freight shipments in Colorado and Utah. With vehicles based in Denver, customers can benefit from increased vehicle availability and faster pickup times.
“We have developed a strong customer base in the Western states,” said John Palma, vice president of sales. “With the new Express Center in Denver, we’ll be able to better meet those customers’ needs and strengthen our position in that geographic market. In fact, we can now provide pickups in less than 90 minutes for locations within 25 miles of Denver and in less than two hours for sites up to 50 miles outside the city.”
Through the more than 150 cities designated as Express Centers in the contiguous U.S. and Canada, FedEx Custom Critical offers five sizes of vehicles to meet customers’ needs. These include minivans, cargo vans, 12-foot and 20-foot straight trucks and tractor-trailers.
FedEx Custom Critical is further committing to the critical shipping needs of customers in Colorado and Utah by adding a regional sales manager to the area. Wesley Young was recently named regional sales manager for the territory, bringing to this new position nearly 10 years of experience in transportation. Most recently, Young spent five years as a sales manager for an LTL transportation carrier based in the Midwest.
“Wes Young not only brings with him extensive knowledge of the transportation industry, but he also lives in the Denver area, so he understands the region and will be easily accessible to customers there,” Palma said. “Both of these factors will enable him to facilitate outstanding service to customers throughout Colorado and Utah.”
