FedEx strengthens international delivery system

by Canadian Shipper

FedEx’s overnight air-express subsidiary, FedEx Express, recently announced a new international service that will simplify the export process. The service, called International Priority Direct Distribution Single Point of Clearance (IPD), will enable clients to send multi-recipient shipments under one air waybill accompanied by one set of paperwork for customs clearance through one gateway, all of which allows the cargo to be sent as one consolidated unit.

It can then be distributed to a multitude of recipients in up to 12 different European countries, the U.S. and many points in Asia.

This enhancement is designed to increase efficiency so customers can distribute their products within two to four days faster and reduce order-to-delivery cycles by as much as four to 12 days.

IPD offers a complete package tracking system as well as FedEx’s money-back guarantee.

Origin countries for IPD include the US, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Taiwan. Destination countries are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK.
