FedEx to use Home Hardware retail network

by The Canadian Press (CPSTF)

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO—The Federal Express courier network plans to expand its retail presence in Canada through a strategic agreement with Home Hardware Stores Ltd.

FedEx says the collaboration provides an opportunity to tap the growing demand for parcel delivery as electronic commerce and online shopping become a bigger force.

There are nearly 1,100 stores across Canada in the Home Hardware network of independently owned businesses.

Under the deal, Home Hardware dealer-owners will be able to house full-service FedEx shipping centres within their stores.

The companies’ announcement didn’t provide details on how many of the Home Hardware locations are expected to participate or when consumers can expect to see FedEx in Home Hardware stores.
