Fraser Direct buys London logistics firm

GEORGETOWN, Ont. — BTC Logistics has been purchased by Fraser Direct. Both firms analyze companies’ supply chain operations for design and implementation of cost and service improvements.

“This merger is very positive for BTC and it’s employees as we strengthen our position in the market,” said Emily Adams, general manager of BTC. “Fraser’s first class values and customer driven focus are the same as BTC’s, which was very important to us.”

“BTC is a great fit for us,” said Al Fraser, vice-president of operations. “We can bring customs brokerage and warehousing expertise to a wider variety of clients including the automobile and food industries. BTC is ISO-certified and are experts in their field. Our combined freight purchasing volume provides even greater savings to our clients.”

BTC Logistics will continue operating from London, with the addition of the Fraser Direct suite of services. The office will be relocating to the Airport district in the New Year, according to officials, expanding the company’s current freight forwarding department and adding warehouse space.

Fraser Direct, headquartered in Georgetown, Ont., currently employs 112 people at four locations, with 113,000 sq. ft. of warehousing and production space. Fraser has five licensed customs brokers on staff and clears goods Canada wide 24/7.
