Freight forwarder Davies Turner expands in Manchester

by Canadian Shipper

International freight forwarder, Davies Turner is increasing its
warehousing capacity at Manchester International Freight Terminal
(MIFT).

The company has taken on a third business unit within the estate,
giving it an additional 2,000 sq. m of warehousing.

Davies Turner’s combined presence at MIFT now comprises well over
8,000 sq. m of warehousing, plus 1,500 sq. m of ancillary,
air-conditioned offices on three floors.

The site has 24-hour gatehouse security, including CCTV surveillance both inside and outside the buildings. The collection and delivery fleet includes swap-body units and trailers plated for 44 tonnes to serve road and rail.

The additional warehouse connects with the existing buildings. The
operational area is further boosted by racking and mezzanines for
order sorting. In the offices, the expanded customs clearance
department runs its own CFSP service for major clients.
