Hamburg Sd carriers to enroll in c-tpat program

by Canadian Shipper

Hamburg-Sd’s North American subsidiaries, Aliana, Columbus Line and Crowley American Transport are enrolling in the U.S. Customs Service program called C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism).

C-TPAT is a government-industry initiative focused on tightening the security of containerized cargo. As part of the enrollment process, the lines will provide Customs with an overview of their overall security programs and will work closely with the agency and other organizations involved in assuring the security of the transport pipeline.

C-TPAT was launched earlier this year for carriers, brokers, warehouse operators, and manufacturers.
