Hamilton Port Authority announces appointment to board

OTTAWA, Ont. — Melvin Hawkrigg has been appointed to the board of directors of the Hamilton Port Authority for a term of two years.

Hawkrigg has held senior positions with various companies over the course of his career, such as vice-chairman of Canada Trustco from 1972 to 1981, senior vice-president with Brascan Limited from 1981 to 1983 and chair of Orlick Industries Limited since 1998. He has been a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants since 1985. In addition, he has served on the board of directors of numerous corporations, including Labatts, Royal Lepage and
London Life Insurance Company.

Currently, he is a director of Orlick Industries Limited, as well as of Renasant Financial Partners Limited and Trisura Guarantee Insurance Company.
