Harmac Transportation Inc., one of Canada’s largest bulk carriers, is now using Cancom Tracking’s OmniTRACS mobile communication systems in its fleet.
“The bulk of our business is time-sensitive, so it was critical we purchase a system that provided the ability to obtain real-time information,” stated Todd Stauffer, General Manager Harmac Transportation Inc. “The OmniTRACS system enables us to accurately track our customer’s temperature sensitive shipments and help us to better achieve our goals and improve every aspect of or service offering.
Thomas Horvath, Operations Analyst, Harmac Transportation Inc. said the OmniTRACS system should help provide a faster and more reliable method of communicating with drivers and at the same time increase dispatcher productivity,”
“Our dispatch centre is now much more organized and quiet to the point that we can hear a pin drop. Cancom Tracking’s proven technology will allow us to enhance our security initiatives with ubiquitous satellite coverage, a worthwhile investment,” Horvath added.
Seamless Integration capabilities were also very important to Harmac when it went looking for a mobile comumincations system. ” said Ham
The Harmac deal also helped Cancom reach a new milestone. The implementation of OmniTRACS at Harmac was celebrated as the 26,000th unit activated on the Canadian Satellite Network.
“Shipping the 26,000th OmniTRACS unit as part of the contract with Harmac, marks an important milestone for Cancom Tracking,” said Mike Ham, Vice President of Cancom Tracking.
