iWheels International, a consortium of companies providing a variety of products and services in the supply chain management industry, is growing again with the appointment of D.J. (Jim) Davidson as Vice President of iWheels Logistics.

The news follows two significant iWheels International achievements announced earlier this year being named one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies for the fourth consecutive year and being one of the first companies in Canada to be ISO 9001:2000 Registered.

“Jim brings more than 30 years experience to the table, and he is well known in the transportation industry as a logistics expert. Jim’s addition to the organization brings together the best combination of vision, intuition, and experience,” said company President Peter Jamieson.

iWheels Logistics has also announced the opening of a new office in the Detroit suburb of Southfield Michigan. “Establishing a presence in Detroit will put us clearly in the center of the automotive and high tech hub of North America and represents a key link in focus and expansion into the U.S. market,” said Jamieson. “We have also placed key new people in Detroit and Toronto adding significant automotive/high tech expertise to complement the existing supply chain capabilities within iWheels Logistics.”

iWheels International is a member of The Wheels Group of companies, which began in 1988 as a non-asset based corporation linking transportation providers together with companies who needed goods shipped around the world. Since then, it has grown to a diverse, multi-million dollar international organization, enjoying an average annual growth rate of more than 30 per cent.

The full spectrum of integrated products and services provided by the iWheels International companies includes single-source highway, rail, ocean and air shipping; third party logistics; supply-chain consulting, optimization and reporting; project implementation and management; carrier financial and infrastructure programs; analytical software development; international freight forwarding; warehousing; container transloading, consolidation and transportation; dedicated fleet management; “virtual” trucking; and technology and systems.
