Key performance indicators study to be presented at SCL’s fall symposium

TORONTO, Ont. SCL will be presenting the much anticipated results of the Industry Canada/SCL research study called, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Key Performance Indicators Analysis a Canada and United States Perspective, at its upcoming Supply Chain Performance Metrics 2006 Fall Symposium Tour.
“Although Canadian firms have used logistics performance indicators internally for decades, there has never been a tool for Canadian firms to benchmark themselves to their supply chain partners, competitors, sectors and U.S. counterparts – until now,” SCL says in release.

The national logistics and SCM performance initiative aims to increase the overall productivity of the Canadian economy by providing tools to firms so that they can implement logistics and SCM strategies.

Keynote speaker, Dr. James Tompkins, will also help logisticians identify opportunities for supply chain improvements by showing how to benchmark an organization’s performance.

Attendees will receive takeaways, including:

The full Industry Canada report plus 5 vertical sector reports (Manufacturing, Retail & Consumer Products, Automotive, Aerospace and Pharmaceutical)

SCL Canada was also chosen as the sole supplier to a Transport Canada study aimed at lowering greenhouse gas emissions. Interestingly, findings showed that concern for environmental issues not only generated environmental improvements but also opportunities for cost containment, improved risk management and enhanced brand image.

Attendees will receive the full Transport Canada report plus best practices and valuable tips on how to receive funding for going green.
