Kuehne & Nagel expands in Asia-Pacific
Kuehne & Nagel (KN) is opening four new regional offices in the Asia-Pacific Region.Before the end of the year, the Swiss logistics company will be opening new offices in Shenyang, Xian, Chengdu and Chongqing.
An office has recently been opened in Cambodia. KN currently has over 13,500 staff in about 500 offices in 85 countries worldwide.
Kuehne & Nagel, which currently handles 1.5 per cent of the world’s containerized cargo, sees the Asia Pacific region as its core area of concentration. Last year it handled 760,000 TEU with over 60 per cent of that passing through the Asia Pacific region.
KN has also joined up with supply chain software company i2 Technologies. KN iLog is the name of the company’s information logistics solution in supply chain management.
It offers real-time end-to-end visibility over the supply chain, centralized availability of supply chain information, automatic quality and efficiency controlling, and supply chain monitoring. KN iLog also provides network planning, design and optimization, and strategic opportunity assessments.
